You're a Diamond In Her Eyes

When you were born, you were a diamond in the rough. New to the world and ready to be shaped and polished by your parents as you grew. You became an extension, a combination of the two of them but with a mind of your own. And hopefully you turned out well. Of course you did, after all, you are a diamond in your mother's eyes. Thats the way she sees you, through good times and bad times.

Lets face it men, in most cases, much of the early formation and foundation of who we are today comes from our mothers, the nurturer. The one who delivered us from their womb. The ones who sacrificed their bodies and so many sleepless nights to ensure our well being.

This also applies to your wife or significant other as well. (And don't say it, I have heard it all before. I know she's not your mother.) But aren't they really a mother to us just in a different role? Not only that, but, at the same time, don't they mother us pretty much the same way? Not only do they take care of your children's needs, but they take care of your needs as well. Even if we don't have children, don't they watch over us and make sure our home is well kept and that we have everything we need in our daily lives? Don't they have jobs and work hard just like we do? You know the answer to that. Don't worry men, you will get your due next month. But right now, lets not forget her and don't put your needs above hers! Next month, Sunday, May 12th is Mother's Day. Don't forget. This is your early reminder. And remember this, even if you do "forget" about Mother's Day, it shouldn't be just about this one day. This is a once-a-year Wake Up Call to remind us of her importance in our lives. Ask yourself this! What would your life be without her? Exactly! Show her your appreciation for all she does. Show her that life would not be the same without her.

To all of the Moms everywhere, I wish you a Happy Mother's Day! Today and every day.

All the best,
