Refashion Old Jewelry Into Something New To Remember The Past

One of my favorite jobs I love to do is refashion old jewelry into something new. This is one of my passions because these pieces have become sentimental. These are designs full of emotion. Most of the jobs I do like this are because a loved one has passed away and left them behind. It was something that this person loved and was often seen wearing. In some instances these are pieces that are handed down from generation to generation. Many times from mother to daughter. The one that receives these gifts often does not care for the style, but they wouldn't think of parting with it. They want to make something new to help them remember the past. These new pieces become more than just jewelry. They become fond memories. Something they will always cherish. This is my passion!

The first three photos below show a diamond anniversary band. The lower half of the ring (shank) was cut off just below the shoulders, which is the part that attaches to the bridge holding the five diamonds. After that, the center diamond was removed. Then the bridge, which is attached to the shoulders or upper half of the ring setting, was cut in half to form a pair of semi hoops for earrings. A post with a friction back was attached to each shoulder. The diamond that was removed from the center of the ring was set in a four prong basket mounting and suspended in the opening of a new open heart pendant. I was able to create two new pieces of jewelry from one old piece. One old ring left behind........two new creations containing fond memories.

If you have old pieces of jewelry that were handed down to you, and they are not your style and you don't know what to do with them, bring them in and I will help you make a piece of jewelry that you would love to wear. Keep those memories alive! Schedule your appointment today. https://app.acuityscheduling.com/schedule.php?owner=16857707
