Focus On The Present
All that glitters from diamonds to gold formed into jewelry of every style imaginable. But that's not the story I'm trying to tell. This video is focusing on the present, not just the present received, but the present time. What I see when I watch this video is myself and my mother when I was this little girl's age. That was me. Helping my mother bake cookies for Christmas. It wasn't just about the presents. It was the closeness I felt to her and the fun I had placing the cookies on the cookie sheets and eating the dough and getting covered in flour. It was the smells and the sounds. Listening to Christmas music and getting in the Spirit! It was fun, it was exciting, full of anticipation of things to come. It is a time to give thanks for all that we have, not what we receive. Its about giving. Not just physical gifts, those aren't important. Its the gifts of kindness and love, both in words and in deeds. Even if there were no presents under the tree you can see what this scene is really all about. Just look at the smiles on the little girls face and the smiles on her mother. This is a moment that neither one of them would trade. A moment they will never forget. Not for gold, not for diamonds, not for anything! Its memories like these I would give anything to have again. Moms and Dads, cherish these moments. They pass too quickly and you can never get them back once they are gone.
